Palm releases Mojo application SDK for webOS and Pre

News by Brian James Kirk on Friday July 17, 2009.

Palm has released its much anticipated Mojo Software Development Kit to developers who plan on creating applications for its new webOS smartphone operating system, which is used on the Palm Pre.

Palm's developer portal provides the development kit along with documentation and access to an online community of webOS developers. The portal also provides user interface guidelines and tutorial applications.

The release of the SDK should be a boon to the company's application storefront. A month ago we reported that Palm App Catalog thus far only had a selection of 30 applications. Third-party developer access should usher in a significant increase in store submissions.

Interested parties can download the SDK by browsing to the developer portal.
