Microsoft to accept Windows Marketplace for Mobile submissions starting on July 27

News by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday July 14, 2009.

On July 27, Microsoft will begin accepting submissions for applications for its mobile app storefront, Windows Marketplace for Mobile. The announcement marks the first news since May, when developers were first able to register for the Marketplace.

In an unanticipated announcement, Microsoft said that Marketplace for Mobile will support older versions of Windows Mobile, versions 6.0 and 6.1, by the end of the year.

The company also says that developers will be able to distribute applications specifically for businesses and business users in its dedicated Business Center, another new development from the Microsoft camp.
