Bill to catalog U.S. spectrum use to be considered by Senate
Newsbrief by Brian James Kirk on Monday July 13, 2009.
Wireless Week reports that the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee has approved a bill for consideration that could force the NTIA and FCC to keep track of frequency spectrum being used between 300MHz and 3.5GHz. Currently, the information is not catalogued and not easily accessible by the public.
The bill was introduced by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) in March. It must still be passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives to become law. [via Phone Scoop]
