BlackBerry Tour 9630 available today from Verizon and Sprint
Product Launch by Michael Oryl on Sunday July 12, 2009.
RIM Blackberry Tour 9630
Today Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest carrier, and fellow CDMA carrier Sprint have made the new Research In Motion BlackBerry Tour 9630 smartphone available for purchase. Both of the carriers are offering the Tour for $199.99 with a new two year agreement.
The Tour features BlackBerry Bold-like styling in a smaller package that is only slightly larger than the current BlackBerry Curve 8900 model. It sports a landscape oriented 480 x 340 pixel display, and trackball controller, and the ability to roam worldwide thanks to the addition of quad-band GSM/EDGE and 2100MHz UMTS 3G support on top of the EV-DO 3G CDMA support for Verizon and Sprint's networks.
You can learn more at the Verizon Wireless and Sprint websites.
We've included some HD video footage of the new BlackBerry Tour in action below. A full review will be posted shortly.

10:00 AM - My Wife buys Blackberry Tour from Verizon (horribly rude customer service.)
1:00 PM - She hates it, so we go back to the VZ store to return it. (More rude service)
1:30 PM - We go to AT&T store to get an iPhone 3Gs (Terrific friendly service.)
2:15 Ice cream store to refuel.
Moral of the story, Verizon hates customers and BlackBerry makes a bad phone.

Really good review and videos. I ordered mine today through Sprint telesales...hope it'll be a good purchase. The trackball issue worries me a bit because for device such as this, one would expect RIM to get the trackball right..after so many previous versions. We'll have to see how it turns out or if future OS updates will fix the issue.

i had the iphone 3g and it sucked ass so i returned it after being at the store for 5hrs fussing with sales rep and having the cops called on me because after the sales rep refuse to return my phone i threating to get her fired. anyways another store in a different state let me returned it and called their regional manager on the other store for me. AT&T isn't good and needs to learn more customer service. So after visting other cellular stores i ended up verizon and of course i ended up getting 3 phones, storm, bbtour and ozone and i actually love ALL of them and so does my husband and our daughter. I did however have to call cs and they were nice!!! Also my manager is returning his iphone tomnorrow to get the storm or tour!
