Sprint says it will be first to launch 3G femtocell technology
News by Brian James Kirk on Friday July 03, 2009.
Sprint says it will be the first to bring its 3G femtocell technology to the market, according to Vice President of Device and Technology Development Mathew Oommen.
"Just like Sprint was the first with 2G, we'll definitely be the first in the 3G space as well," Oommen told Unstrung.
The news comes after AT&T announced plans yesterday to release its 3G femtocell in the U.S. by the end of the year. Oommen did not reveal a supplier or the price of the device and service plans.
