Nokia Beta Labs adds instant messaging to Nokia Messaging for the E75

Newsbrief by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday June 30, 2009.

AllAboutSymbian reports that Nokia is previewing a messaging and instant messaging hybrid app for its E75 smartphone at Nokia's Beta Labs.

The application allows users to chat via Yahoo! Messenger and Ovi, and receive background notifications while using other phone applications. The app allows for integrated experiences like Yahoo!-specific emoticons, the ability to set status messages and change avatars, and the opportunity to save conversations.

Users will need Yahoo! and Ovi accounts to use the new E75 messaging software.
