Adobe will release a beta version of Flash Player 10 for smartphones in October, President and CEO Shantanu Narayen said in pre-recorded earnings call. "Multiple partners have already received early version of this release and we expect to release a Beta version for developers," Narayen said.

Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and webOS operating systems will be among the first devices to support the new platform. On the chipset side, Narayen said that ARM, Nvidia, Broadcomm, Intel, Texas Instruments, and Qualcomm are optimizing the new player for their products. [via AndroidAuthority]
