The long-awaited Sirius XM app is now available on iPhone and iPod touch devices. The application allows Sirius and XM satellite radio subscribers to listen to 120 channels of programming on their touchscreen Apple devices. Audio is delivered by 3G and WiFi networks for iPhone users and WiFi networks for iPod touch users.
The application is free, and a seven-day trial is available, but after that, users will have to sign-up for one of the online programming subscriptions. Users who already have a satellite radio subscription will be able to listen to the service if their package provides online access. Users will need to have iPhone OS 2.0 or later firmware to run the application.
