News by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday June 09, 2009.

AT&T has confirmed that it will support tethering and MMS messaging for iPhone OS 3.0 users later this summer.

"We [need to] complete some system upgrades that will ensure our customers have the best experience with MMS. We plan to offer a tethering plan, but don't have an announcement to make at this time," a spokesperson told Phone Scoop. "These upgrades are unrelated to our 3G network."

The company also detailed pricing options for the iPhone 3G S. For new customers, the 3G S will cost $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model. If a customer is not eligible for an upgrade, prices are $399 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 32GB model. Without commitment, the devices will cost $599 and $699, respectively.
