HTC Magic for Asia includes Exchange support, additional features

News by Michael Oryl on Friday May 15, 2009.

We've just learned that HTC is including a built-in Microsoft Exchange client on the HTC Magic devices that lack the "with Google" branding seen on the Vodafone version (as well as the original T-Mobile G1). According to HTC's Eric Lin, the "with Google" phones will sport the stock Android smartphone operating system, while the non-Google branded phone will include HTC developed "special sauce."

According to Lin and this page on the HTC's website, the special additions include Exchange support, an improved camera application, an on-screen keyboard with predictive text, and a custom dialer with a smart-dial feature. The phones will also include additional home screen widgets.
