Sprint has announced that it plans to launch the Novatel MiFi 2200 intelligent hotspot, a WiFi router with a 3G mobile broadband connection that allows users to access the Internet on WiFi-enabled devices while on-the-go.
Users will be able to connect up to five laptops, MP3 players and gaming devices to Sprint's EV-DO Rev. A mobile broadband network. The network carrier will also support MiFi's GPS capabilities, which will allow users to utilize location-based services through the hotspot.
Sprint offers two service plans for use with the MiFi 2200. A $59.99 per month data plan specifically for the device and a $149.99 per month Simply Everything plan that includes phone and MiFi connectivity. Both plans offer 5GB of data per month.
The Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot will be available in the first week of June for $99.99 after a two-year customer agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate.
