Ericsson CEO says Sony a "logical buyer" for its share of Sony Ericsson

In a discussion today with the UK's Financial Times, Ericsson CEO Carl-Henric Svanberg noted that a cash injection from his company into the suffering Sony Ericsson joint venture was "not unlikely." Svanberg was also quoted as saying that Sony would be a "logical buyer" of its stake in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. But, having said that, he also pointed out that no sale discussions were currently taking place.

For its part, Sony also said that it will support Sony Ericsson, which could easily be interpretted as meaning that it is also willing to provide the firm with cash or other financial support.
