Boost Mobile to fix text messaging delays by May 7
News by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday May 05, 2009.
As we reported yesterday, Boost Mobile's iDEN network has been experiencing widespread delays with text messages, wherein messages can take up to several hours to deliver.
Company spokesperson John Votava told the Wall Street Journal yesterday in a phone interview that the company diagnosed the problem at the end of March and that the delays would be fixed by May 7.
Customers flocking to the carrier's inexpensive unlimited voice and messaging service is most likely causing the issue. According to Sprint's first quarter financial results, 764,000 net new prepaid customers joined Boost in the quarter, beating analyst expectations. [via EngadgetMobile]
