Aliph's Jawbone PRIME features new noise reduction technology and eye-catching colors

Product Launch by Brian James Kirk on Thursday April 23, 2009.

Aliph has announced the Jawbone PRIME Bluetooth headset with EARCANDY colors, featuring better audio quality, improved comfort and a variety of colors. The PRIME improves on the company's NoiseAssassin technology, which delivers better noise elimination performance and wind reduction while keeping the user's voice natural.

This Bluetooth device supports v2.1 and below, and also has +EDR compatibility. It still manages to include 4.5 hours of talk time and 8 days of standby time.

The device has a Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) that, when touching the user's face, improves noise cancellation performance, and a back-up Acoustic Voice Activity Detector in-case VAS isn't activated. The Jawbone PRIME has new Digital Signal Processing that allows the device to handle up to 10mph of wind interference. With enhanced Multipoint technology, users can simultaneously connect the Jawbone PRIME to two Bluetooth-enabled devices at once.

The PRIME introduces a variety of customization options with three round Earbuds, three fit Earbuds and an optional earloop. Exclusive EARCANDY colors give users a range of hues to reflect Spring 2009 fashion trends. The Aliph Jawbone PRIME is available today for pre-order and will be available on May 2, 2009 for $129.99.

So portal vendors will not only support these frameworks but also will start providing a roadmap for moving from Gadgets to Portlets, and vice-versa.
