Motorola and former CFO accuse each other of misdeeds

News by Brian James Kirk on Friday April 10, 2009.

BusinessWeek is reporting that former Motorola Chief Financial Officer Paul Liska has claimed in court documents that the manufacturer misrepresented its mobile unit financial performance and that he was unlawfully dismissed.

Liska claims that he was alarmed by the company's financial misstatements and that he was fired after bringing the concerns to the attention of the board. Liska also claims he has not been paid contractual severance pay.

Motorola has responded, calling Liska a "treacherous officer" who intentionally tried to portray himself as a whistleblower in a scheme to "demand millions in return for his silence."
