Mobile VoIP provider Zer01 Mobile to launch $69.99 unlimited service on July 1

News by Michael Oryl on Wednesday April 01, 2009.

Today Zer01 Mobile, a new VoIP based national mobile carrier, announced that its unconventional "True" unlimited voice and data mobile plan would be available to consumers starting on July 1 of 2009.

Zer01 Mobile, which claims to not be an MVNO(INFO), has data agreements with multiple carriers that will provide its users unlimited voice and data service on supported smartphones. At launch time, only Windows Mobile 6 and newer smartphones will be supported, but the company has said that it expects to expand onto the BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone smartphone platforms "within months."

The Zer01 Mobile True unlimited plan will be available without a contract for US$69.99 per month. Users are free to make use of their own existing smartphones or can purchase a new device from a Zer01 store.

Zer01 Mobile is premiering its new service on Pharos-built Windows Mobile smartphones at the 2009 CTIA Wireless event that is now taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
