RIM opens BlackBerry App World mobile application marketplace
News by Brian James Kirk on Wednesday April 01, 2009.
RIM is launching BlackBerry App World, its mobile application marketplace for BlackBerry smartphones, today at the 2009 CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The App World application features a front page carousel which showcases the best new free and paid applications every week. Users can access App World's top downloads, or browse through its list of application categories. If they are still searching for that perfect app, the App World application allows users to search its inventory. Users can submit reviews and recommend applications.
Users have access to App World over WiFi and over cellular networks. The store is currently available in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, with more countries to follow. Users can immediately download the application by visiting www.blackberry.com/appworld.
