Sprint launches new SANYO SCP-2700, an affordable QWERTY messaging phone

Product Launch by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday March 31, 2009.

Sprint and Kyocera SANYO have announced the SANYO SCP-2700, a slim and affordable messaging device in a simple block form factor. The device features a full-QWERTY keyboard, threaded text messaging, access to the Web, e-mail and more so users can stay connected on the go.

With a 2.2-inch 65k color TFT (320 x 240) LCD display, pictures snapped with the SCP-2700 feature phone's 1.3-megapixel camera will look sharp. Users can upload their photos to their favorite social networks using Sprint's Social Zone application, which gives users access to Photobucket, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, and more. The SCP-2700 features Bluetooth integration and Sprint Navigation allows users to utilize turn-by-turn directions given by voice or shown on-screen.

The Sprint SANYO SCP-2700 will be available in pink and deep blue color schemes on May 10 for $29.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $50 dollar mail-in rebate.
