Opera Software shows off Opera Mobile 9.7 with Flash and Turbo support

News by Michael Oryl on Thursday March 26, 2009.

Today Opera Software said that it will be formally introducing its new Opera Mobile 9.7 web browser at next week's CTIA event in Las Vegas. The new Opera Mobile 9.7 browser features support for Opera Turbo, a server based compression system that speeds up the mobile web browsing experience. The new browser also comes complete with AJAX and Flash support for a very desktop-like browsing experience from a smartphone.

Opera claims that its Opera Turbo system not only creates a faster internet experience that consumers will enjoy, but also reduces the amount of data transmitted by as much a 80%, which is something the carriers will surely appreciate. Users can watch a preview video of what Opera Mobile 9.7 with Opera Turbo looks like by heading over to Opera's website.
