Man loses Nokia cell phone to a hungry fish, only to recover it a week later
Newsbrief by Michael Oryl on Friday February 27, 2009.
It might sound like a fishy tale, but the Sun, a U.K. based newspaper, is reporting that a man that had lost his Nokia cell phone in the water was reunited with his phone a week later after a fisherman had caught the 25 pound cod that had swallowed the phone.
According to the phone's owner, Andrew Cheatle, it still functioned to some extent even after that week in a less than ideal environment, though he did eventually get the main circuit board replaced when the phone started acting up. For his part, the fisherman that caught the hungry cod (and phone), Glen Kerley, said that he's recovered many different types of things from the stomach of cod, including batteries, prior to the Nokia phone incident.
