MapQuest adds saved locations and routes to mobile application

News by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday February 24, 2009.

MapQuest has announced My Places for MapQuest 4 Mobile, which allows registered users to save maps and routes on their home PC and access them on their mobile phones when they are on-the-go.

Users of My Places can set up an account on MapQuest's Web page using a PC and save favorite locations and upcoming trip routes for access on their mobile device. Users will need to navigate to m.mq4m.com on their mobile handsets to download the MapQuest 4 Mobile mobile software package or to upgrade their previous MapQuest mobile software to support the new features.

My Places is available on select BlackBerry handsets. The company plans to release the software for additional handsets and platforms in coming months. [via PhoneScoop]
