BlackBerry application storefront is another step closer to completion

Newsbrief by Brian James Kirk on Tuesday January 20, 2009.

Research in Motion has quietly announced that it is accepting developer submissions for its BlackBerry application storefront. No official announcement has been made as to when the application storefront will be available to users, but developer submissions puts the company one step closer to that announcement.

MocoNews.net is reporting that rumors are abounding about the possibility of Microsoft launching a similar storefront to compete with RIM, Apple's App Store, and Google's Android Market. Apple recently announced that its App Store has 15,000 applications available and recently surpassed 500 million downloads.
