Apple patents iPhone gloves
Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Monday January 05, 2009.
Apple has patented a concept design of iPhone gloves, according to the U.S. Patent Office. These gloves are designed to protect your fingers, while still allowing the use of the iPhone's capacitive touchscreen, which does not function properly with most traditional gloves.
The gloves feature an electrically conductive inner layer, which would allow users to use their iPhone through these gloves. The patent also allows for an option where the end of the gloves' fingers might have an elastic ring that the user could push their finger through to use the phone.
The patent was originally filed June 28th, 2007, so it doesn't seem all that likely that Apple will actually use the patent to create a real product. You can check out the original filing here. [via AppleInsider]
