Palm launches app store for Windows Mobile and Palm OS devices

Palm has officially launched its new Software Store, an on-device portal where users can easily find and purchase applications for its smartphones. The store will stock applications for both Windows Mobile and the Palm operating systems, and can boast 1500 applications at launch.

Palm will be giving developers 50% of the revenue from the sale of their applications, while the other 50% will go to Palm and other parties that are involved. Palm is partnering with application distributor PocketGear to launch the store. Users of Palm-branded devices can download the new store by from Palm's website. [via mocoNews]
