Sprint is not rushing into Android's robotic arms

Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Friday December 12, 2008.

Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse stated a while back that Android wasn't ready for prime time, and it appears as though his Vice President, Kevin Packingham, has confirmed that is the company's position. In a statement made to the Seattle Tech Report, Packingham stated that Sprint is closely watching Android's development.

Packingham is quoted as saying, "When the timing's right, [we can] pull the trigger," referring to an Android-powered smartphone. It's believed that Sprint could be launching its own Android-powered smartphone within a year, though there has been no confirmation of that time frame. [via AndroidAuthority]
