AT&T allowing at-home activation for Apple iPhone 3G

News by Ricky Cadden on Thursday December 11, 2008.

AT&T and Apple have brought back at-home activation for the iPhone 3G, just in time for Christmas. Consumers activating new service, or adding a new line of service, can now order the Apple iPhone 3G online and then activate it using iTunes in their own home.

At-home activation was the only way to activate the original iPhone, but was eliminated for the new iPhone 3G model in an attempt to thwart consumers who were unlocking the phone for use on other networks. [via Boy Genius Report]
