Sprint adds Exchange and Notes calendar sync to Instinct - other phones in the future

News by Michael Oryl on Thursday December 04, 2008.

Today Sprint announced that it has added corporate calendar synchronization to the Samsung Instinct, its very popular full touchscreen feature phone. The new synching ability found in the Instinct's Mobile Email application is compatible with both Microsoft Exchange servers as well as IBM's Lotus Notes servers. The application already gives users access to their corporate email and contacts.

The Sprint Mobile Email service is available at no additional charge to all Samsung Instinct owners. The service can be activated from the Instinct's email menu.

Another interesting piece of news from this announcement, though it has nothing to do with the Instinct, is that Sprint says it plans to offer the corporate calendar synchronization service on other non-PDA handsets in its lineup. Mobile Email is currently available on 56 Sprint cell phones.
