BlackBerry MySpace app see 400k downloads in first week

Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Friday November 21, 2008.

RIM and MySpace have announced that the MySpace for BlackBerry application has reached over 400,000 downloads. The application was launched last week, on November 13th, and allows users to login to their account, view messages, and update their mood and status right from their BlackBerry smartphones.

The Facebook BlackBerry application has also been extremely popular, and shows an increase in the use of social networks from cell phones. The massive amount of downloads for both the MySpace and Facebook applications also hints at progress for RIM, which has been working hard to reposition its BlackBerry smartphones as consumer devices.
