Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 passes FCC with US 3G support

News by Ricky Cadden on Thursday November 13, 2008.

After being announced in March of this year at the Mobile World Congress in Spain, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a has finally passed through the FCC's testing process. The X1a is the version that sports tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support, which includes AT&T's high-speed HSDPA network.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-powered smartphone with Sony Ericsson's new Xperia panel user interface. A slide-out QWERTY keyboard is also on board, as is WiFi and quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support.

Sony Ericsson stated yesterday that the Xperia X1 would be coming to the United States on November 28th, and will be available unlocked through Sony's retail outlets. You can browse through the FCC documentation here.]
