Sprint and Scanbuy have teamed up to launch ScanLife, a 2D barcode reader application for Sprint cell phones. 2D barcodes are increasingly being found in advertisements in magazines and posters, and are in the shape of a square. Consumers use the camera on their cell phone to scan the barcode and get instant access to websites or other relevant information.

The ScanLife application is available for download on more than 30 of Sprint's current cell phones. Consumers can download the application through Sprint's mobile homepage, or by simply texting 'SCAN' to 70734 from their Sprint cell phone.
