The FCC likes to make sure we know about things before the carriers want us to, and this new Ubicell for Verizon is certainly interesting. It is a smaller, personal femtocell(INFO). The Samsung Ubicell is currently on the market as the Sprint Airave, and it uses your wired broadband connection to give you a wireless signal boost wherever you have the unit installed.

The Verizon-branded version, which has now passed through the FCC's testing process, is clad in shiny black with a small stub antenna. According to the user manual, it will also have the GPS limitation, where the device will not operate until it gets a GPS lock showing that it is in the United States.
