FCC approves Sprint Clearwire WiMAX joint venture

At its meeting yesterday, the FCC approved a planned joint venture deal between Sprint and Clearwire that will build out a large scale WiMAX network as part. Previously both companies had been working on separate, but compatible, WiMAX networks. Sprint launched its XOHM network in Baltimore on September 29th.
