Samsung updates Omnia for Korea, renames it T*Omnia
News by Ricky Cadden on Monday November 03, 2008.
Samsung T*Omnia
Samsung has announced that its Omnia smartphone, which is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and features Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, will be landing in the Korean market as the T*Omnia, exclusively with SK Telekom. The T*Omnia also received a few hardware upgrades, including a new 3.3" WVGA touchscreen display with 480x800 pixel resolution. Satellite DMB support is also on board the T*Omnia, for mobile TV reception.
The Samsung T*Omnia will be available to Korean consumers in two versions, one with 4GB of internal storage, and one with 16GB. Both models are also equipped with a microSD card slot for further memory expansion.
While the T*Omnia is officially only coming to the Korean market, this new model bodes well for Verizon customers in the U.S., as that carrier is rumored to be announcing its own Samsung Omnia soon.
