Nokia N79 passes the FCC with U.S. 3G support

News by Ricky Cadden on Wednesday October 15, 2008.

Recently the FCC approved a version of Nokia's N79 candybar smartphone that features dual-band UMTS (850/1900MHz) support for AT&T's 3G network in the United States. The Nokia N79 also sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics.

Since there is no mention in the FCC documentation of AT&T carrying the Nokia N79, it is quite likely that this cell phone will be offered unlocked, directly from Nokia. You can check out the FCC documents here. [via EngadgetMobile]
