NPD Group says the Motorola RAZR V3 is still on top

Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Wednesday October 08, 2008.

The NPD Group has announced results of a recent study that shows that the Motorola RAZR V3 is currently the top selling cell phone in the USA based on surveys it ran in June, July, and August of this year. While that seems outrageous, considering that the phone first hit the market nearly 5 years ago, it makes sense since this model is available on nearly every single carrier in the U.S., both national and regional. The RAZR V3 is also available in over 5 different colors, and is usually free with a 2-year commitment.

The Apple iPhone 3G is second, with the BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl also making the top 5 list at positions 3 and 5, respectively. The LG Chocolate rounds out the list at number 4. Unfortunately the NPD Group did not release specific market share percentages for these cell phones. [via RCR Wireless]
