Australia's Telstra rolling out 21Mbps eHSPA network upgrade

Newsbrief by Michael Oryl on Monday October 06, 2008.

Earlier today Australian carrier Telstra announced that the upgrade of its HSPA(INFO) 3G network to Enhanced HSPA (eHSPA, also known as HSPA Evolution and HSPA+) is nearly complete. This upgrade will enable Telstra customers to experience peak download data rates as fast as 21Mbps when used with eHSPA(INFO) compatible equipment.

Telstra already lays claim to operating the fastest national 3G network in the world, and this upgrade should cement that position for some time to come.
