Velocity 103 available later this month

Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Thursday September 11, 2008.

The Velocity 103 is expected to begin shipping later this month, according to the company's announcement at the fall CTIA show, which is taking place in San Francisco right now. The 103 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-powered smartphone with a large VGA touchscreen display.

The Velocity 103 uses a custom user interface called Odyssey, which Velocity developed itself. This smartphone also packs a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, and a built-in GPS receiver. The Velocity 103 will begin shipping in Europe first, with U.S. shipments beginning in October. Pricing information was not released, though online retailer Expansys is taking pre-orders for $499.99.
