It appears that the touchscreen equipped RIM BlackBerry 9530 Thunder is headed to Verizon Wireless here in the USA. Engadget has received some retail box renderings that show the device in Verizon garb, though with a different name: 9530 Storm. Also of note is that the box refers to the BlackBerry Storm as a "global smartphone", which likely implies that it features a SIM card slot and support for some GSM networks, as does RIM's BlackBerry 8830, which is also sold by Verizon.

The box renderings also suggest that the Storm will ship with an 8GB microSD memory card as well as a wired pair of 3.5mm stereo headphones. Previous reports have the device as being scheduled to ship in mid-October, but without anything official from RIM or Verizon, that time frame is anything but firm.
