LiMo Foundation gains 11 new members, now tops 50

The LiMo Foundation, which seeks to increase the uses of Linux in mobile devices, announced that it has grown its membership roster to include over 50 different companies. 11 new recruits joined recently, including Cellon, Esmertec, Freescale Semiconductor, Longcheer Holdings, MIZI Research, Movial Corporation, PacketVideo Corporation (PV), SK Innoace, Telecom Italia, VirtualLogixTM Inc. and ZTE Corporation.

The LiMo Foundation boasts a total of 20 different cell phones currently deployed. Motorola, NEC, Panasonic, and others have all successfully brought LiMo handsets to market. [via: MobileTechNews]
