T-Mobile's new Sidekick 2008 to launch on July 30th

Newsbrief by Ricky Cadden on Thursday July 17, 2008.

T-Mobile is reportedly preparing to launch a new Sidekick model with a 2.6" WQVGA display. The Sidekick 2008, as it is tentatively known, is planned as an entry-level option for the younger crowd looking for an all-in-one multimedia device.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 will offer users the ability to design their own custom shells, or faceplates, and will offer matching wallpapers from its download catalog. A 2 megapixel camera is built-in with video recording capabilities, and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets is also present.

No word on pricing, but this new T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 should launch on July 30th. You can get the full scoop from the Boy Genius Report.
