News by Ricky Cadden on Thursday July 10, 2008.

The RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 has passed through the FCC's testing process, allowing it to be sold in the United States sometime soon. The Bold is the first BlackBerry cell phone to sport tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support, with HSDPA on board for high-speed data transfers.

The BlackBerry Bold offers a new half-VGA (480x320) resolution display, in addition to a slick new user interface. A new full-HTML web browser is also on board, alongside WiFi and a hefty 1500mAh battery.
