At the 2008 Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan, E-TEN unveiled yet another VGA touscreen equipped smartphone, the X900. Like the other new handsets in the company's Glofiish line of smartphones, the X900 runs the latest 6.1 version of Microsoft's Windows Mobile Professional operating system.

Apart from the fact that we know it supports high-speed HSDPA 3G data, we don't have much information about this new device. We can tell you that it runs E-TEN's new finger touch UI extensions and application launcher. The system has an HTC TouchFLO-like appearance and provides users with 3D effects and large, finger-friendly buttons and icons to make the cell phone easier to use without a stylus, though it does come with a stylus. The early version of the system we saw at Mobile World Congress earlier this year was promising, so we expect good things now that the software is complete.

Update: E-TEN has told us that the X900 supports 850/1900/2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity. It sports a 533MHz Samsung processor, and has 256MB of internal flash and 128MB of application RAM. It has a low-res VGA camera for video calls, and a 3 megapixel autofocus camera out back. The X900 also sports a microSD card slot for storage expansion, Bluetooth and WiFi, and a built-in FM radio. The device weighs 147g (5.2oz) with its 1530mAh battery in place, and measures up at 106mm x 60.5mm x 17mm (4.2" x 2.4" x .7").

The X900 can be seen now through June 7th at the Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan. E-TEN expects the X900 to go on sale in August.
