Nokia Quietly Launches N-gage 2.0 A Few Days Early

News by Ricky Cadden on Thursday April 03, 2008.

After closing the N-gage First Access program on March 27th, the Nokia N-gage team has quietly launched the official version of Nokia's N-gage 2.0 gaming platform this afternoon. The download is available for owners of the Nokia N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95, and N95 8GB S60-based smartphones, with more devices being supported soon.

Nokia's second attempt at the N-gage gaming platform, N-gage 2.0 is a downloadable application that offers up a connected mobile gaming experience. Users can download and purchase games directly from their device, with timed rental and purchase options available. Gamers are also encouraged to setup an N-gage profile, and can connect to other players and challenge them to online matches.

If you currently own a compatible handset, you're encouraged to visit the official download page and get yourself setup.
