Sierra Wireless took the opportunity this week at the 2008 Mobile World Congress to unveil its Compass 885 USB modem and Aircard 885E ExpressCard high-speed modems. Both devices sport tri-band HSPA (850/1900/2100MHz) and quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) for world connectivity.
The Aircard 885E ExpressCard modem also features a flexible fixed antenna to eliminate moving parts and offer a solid design. The 885 Compass USB Modem is the only USB Modem on the market to feature a connector for an external antenna, and also sports a built-in microSD memory card slot for expanded storage.
Both the Compass 885 USB Modem and Aircard 885E ExpressCard are expected to be available in mid-2008.
