Sonim Invites Media To Destroy Its XP1 Handset
Product Launch by Ricky Cadden on Tuesday February 12, 2008.
Sonim XP1
The Sonim XP1 is a completely indestructible handset being shown off at the 2008 Mobile World Congress, where attendees are invited to attempt to destroy the device. Available now in yellow, black, or grey, the XP1 is low on features, but the rugged construction makes up for it.
The Sonim XP1 is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) candybar handset with Bluetooth and a 128 x 160 pixel resolution color display. Measuring in at 113mm x 50mm x 21mm (4.4" x 2" x .8") and weighing 128g (4.5oz), the Sonim XP1 has withstood being cased in cement, frozen, attached to fireworks, and shot with a Glock 9mm pistol.
The Sonim XP1 is currently available for US$365.
