Alltel Adds BlackBerry Pearl, LG Scoop, and Samsung Muse to its Offerings

News by Ricky Cadden on Thursday January 24, 2008.

Alltel today released a trio of new handsets to its lineup: the Blackberry Pearl 8130, the LG Scoop, and the Samsung Muse. The three handsets will be available in Q1, 2008, though pricing has not been announced yet.

The Blackberry Pearl 8130, now available in red, sports a 2 megapixel camera and a microSD card slot for expanded memory. A built-in GPS receiver helps you find your way, while the 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets make it easy to enjoy your tunes.

The LG Scoop features a candybar design with a convenient slide-out QWERTY keyboard for serious messaging capabilities. A 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth are also included on the LG Scoop. The handset will be available in orange, aqua, and charcoal color schemes. Astute readers may recognize the Scoop as being the same basic device as the LG Rumor that is sold by Sprint.

The Samsung Muse is a music-centric clamshell with a 2 megapixel camera and video recording. The Muse sports a dedicated music key for quick access to those features and is available in a sleek midnight blue color scheme. GPS capabilities and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets are also available on the Samsung Muse.
