Today T-Mobile USA announced a new exclusive color for its popular RIM BlackBerry Pearl handset - pearl white. Apart from the new color that adorns the exterior, nothing has changed from the original Pearl except for the addition of T-Mobile's My Faves support. The new Pearl White will be available for US$149 with a new 2 year contract. An unlimited internet data and email package can be added to a Pearl user's account for $19.99/mo.

In addition to revealing the new variation in color and the My Faves support, T-Mobile also released a few statistics regarding its current Pearl users. The company claims that nearly 75% of the customers that bought a BlackBerry Pearl were upgrading from a non-smartphone, which speaks highly of the consumer appeal of the handset - something that the older, traditional BlackBerry devices lacked. Further strengthening their claim that the Pearl has a large non-corporate fan base, T-Mobile's says that 80% of its Pearl users have signed up for the BlackBerry Internet Only service, which allows access to personal email but not to corporate BlackBerry Enterprise servers.

A black version of the RIM BlackBerry Pearl recently became available on Cingular's network.
