During 3G World Congress in Hong Kong this week, Nokia announced the introduction of two new CDMA handsets for emerging markets. As Nokia's announcement states, the new Nokia 1265 and 1325 are aimed at the 'talk and text crowd,' those that primarily use a phone for making calls and sending and receiving text messages.

The Nokia 1265 is just about as low-end as it gets these days, with only a black and white display and hands free speakerphone to its name. A 60-second voice recorder has also been integrated and, satisfying its target market, Nokia has included a large contact phonebook, calendar, calculator, and alarm clock. Owners can also enjoy ringtones with 32 Polyphonic voices at their disposal.

Nokia's new 1325 is the 'high-end' of the two new handsets, boasting the same base features as the 1265, but sporting a 64k color display. Up to 400 contacts and 150 text messages can be stored in the handset's on board memory, and Nokia has boosted the voice recording length to 90-seconds with the 1325. The handset's weight of under 71g (2.5oz) hides a battery good for 3.5 hours talk time and 6.5 days standby time, identical to the 1265.

Both the Nokia 1265 and 1325 are primed for release in select markets within China, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America during the 1st quarter of 2007, though pricing specifics have so far not been announced.
