Verizon, YouTube Discussing Content Deal

Newsbrief by Brad Kellett on Tuesday November 07, 2006.

It seems business is getting better and better for YouTube, which was just acquired by Google for US$1.65 billion, as it has been revealed in a report by the Wall Street Journal today that Verizon Communications is in 'advanced talks' to bring its online content to other mediums, such as mobile handsets and cable TV.

The deal is likely to bring YouTube content to Verizon's V Cast 3G video service through Verizon Wireless, Verizon Communications' joint venture mobile operator with Vodafone. Under the terms of the agreement, Verizon could also offer YouTube content on demand through the company's FiOS TV service.
