T-Mobile USA Launches Samsung T609

Today Samsung and T-Mobile USA launched the new Samsung SGH-T609 clamshell handset. The new handset is equipped with a video capable 1.3 megapixel digital camera with a 4x digital zoom function, as well as a 262k color capable 1.9" display with a 176x220 pixel resolution. Other entertainment type features include a MP3 player and a memory card slot for storing music and images.
On a more technical front, the T609 supports all four of the major GSM frequency bands as well as supports EDGE high-speed data. Other features of note include a voice recognition system, Bluetooth wireless support, a speakerphone, and instant messaging support for AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo! Messenger.
The SGH-T609 measures 91mm x 46mm x 22mm (3.59 x 1.81 x 0.88") in size and weighs 83g (2.9oz). Samsung claims that the SGH-T609 should be good for 3 hours of talk time or up to 6 days of standby time. The Samsung SGH-T609 is currently available for purchase on the T-Mobile USA website.
